CHERRY CAKE AND SAUCE | |
2 c. sugar 2 eggs, beaten 2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 2 cans sour cherries, drained (save juice) 1 c. chopped nuts SAUCE: Cherry juice from 2 cans cherries 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. butter 1/2 tsp. vanilla Mix together sugar and eggs. Add flour, baking soda and mix. Add cherries, vanilla and nuts. Bake in 9x13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour. SAUCE: Mix all ingredients together in saucepan. Cook until thickened. Serve warm over cake. |
