BARBECUE SWEET POTATOES 
6 sweet potatoes (4 lb.)
1/4 lb. unsalted butter, melted
2 tbsp. packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. ancho or regular chili powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400°F. On foil-lined baking sheet, bake potatoes 1 hour until just tender; let cool. (Can be roasted a day ahead and refrigerated; bring to room temperature to continue.)

Place broiler rack 4 to 6-inches from heat. Preheat broiler. Cut potatoes lengthwise into quarters. Arrange, cut sides up, on broiler pan rack.

In small bowl, combine butter and remaining ingredients; brush over potatoes. Broil 6 to 8 minutes, turning pan frequently.

Makes 12 servings.
