SNICKER - DOODLE COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar (can use brown sugar for half)
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
Finely chopped nuts (optional)

Mix together butter, sugars and eggs. Sift together and mix flour, tartar, soda and salt. Roll in balls, size of walnut and roll in mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in 350 degree oven. Cookies puff up, then flatten with crinkled tops. Roll some in finely chopped nuts (optional)
