Strawberries, 1 pt. Semi sweet chocolate chips, 6 oz. pkg. Shortening, 1/2 tsp. Line cookie sheet with waxed paper. Rinse in colander strawberries. Dry or gently pat them with a clean towel. Remove stems if you like. Heat in sauce pan, chocolate chips and shortening over low heat until melted. Remove from heat. For each strawberry, poke the stem end with fork and dip it into the melted chocolate. (Do not cover all of the strawberry with chocolate.) Place strawberries on cookie sheet. Refrigerate uncovered about 30 minutes or until chocolate is firm. |
