EASY SWEDISH RYE BREAD 
1 pkg. yeast
3/4 c. milk
1 1/2 c. rye flour
3/4 c. lukewarm water
3 c. white flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. shortening
2 tbsp. molasses

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Scald milk. In a large bowl, pour milk over molasses, brown sugar, salt and shortening. Add yeast and sifted rye flour, beat well. Then gradually add white flour and knead lightly. Place in greased bowl, cover with cloth. Let rise until double in bulk. Then knead dough on floured board. Shape into 2 loaves. Place in greased bread pans. Let rise again until double in bulk. Bake about 1 hour at 300 degrees.
