MERINGUE TOP COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. water
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
6 oz. chocolate chips

FOR MERINGUE:

1 c. brown sugar
2 egg whites

Cream butter and sugars. Add egg yolks, water and vanilla. Beat. Add dry ingredients and mix. Dough will be stiff. Spread and press into greased 10x12 cake pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and lightly press in dough.

Make meringue by beating egg whites until stiff and fold in 1 cup brown sugar. Spread lightly over dough. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool 5 minutes and cut into squares. Cool 30 minutes before removing from pan.
