PACZKI 
1 1/2 c. milk, scalded and cooled
2 yeast cakes
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
3 egg yolks
1 whole egg
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. nutmeg or mace
4 1/2 c. flour

Scald milk, let cool to lukewarm. Break yeast cakes into lukewarm milk. In separate bowl beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, salt and flavorings. Add sifted flour and nutmeg alternately with milk, beating in gradually and well. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled, about 2 1/2 hours. Punch down and let rise again covered.

Put dough on floured surface and shape into balls and let rise. Fry in oil 375 degrees to brown turning only once. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with 10x sugar.
