MEATBALL VEGETABLE SOUP 
MEATBALLS:

1 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. dried bread crumbs
2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. tomato sauce
2 tbsp. instant minced onion
1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt

SOUP:

1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed beef broth
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can vegetable soup
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen lima beans
3/4 tsp. salt
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
1/3 c. shredded carrots
1/3 c. precooked rice
2 tbsp. minced onion

Meatballs: In large bowl, combine all ingredients except shortening. Shape into 8 large balls. In medium skillet over medium heat, in hot shortening, brown meatballs. Cover; cook over low heat 15 minutes.

Soup: While meatballs are cooking in large saucepan over high heat, cook undiluted beef broth, undiluted vegetable soup and lima beans 15 minutes; add remaining ingredients, including meatballs and simmer 10 minutes. Yield 8 cups.
