CHICKEN INDONESIAN STYLE 
2 (2-2 1/2 lb.) broilers, split
2 tbsp. oil
1/2 c. dry Madeira wine
1/2 c. dry red wine
2 tbsp. wine vinegar
1/3 c. soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Pinch ground cloves
2 tbsp. light brown sugar
1/2 c. finely chopped onion

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Rinse chickens, pat dry, and trim away and discard visible fat. Rub skin lightly with vegetable oil. Arrange chicken halves in a shallow baking pan and bake for 25 minutes, or until the skin is browned.

While the chicken is baking, mix together the remaining ingredients and blend well.
