CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. self-rising flour
2 sticks butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Sift flour, sugar and soda in bowl. Melt butter in saucepan. Add water and cocoa. Bring to rapid boil. Pour over flour mixture and blend. Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla; mix well. Pour in greased 9 x 13 pan.

Bake 20 minutes at 400°F. Reduce heat to 350°F for 5 more minutes. Cool 10 minutes.

Chocolate Icing:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 full box TX sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Melt butter, cocoa and milk. Cook over low heat until mixture melts and then bring to boil. Remove from heat. Add sugar, vanilla and nuts. Mix well and spread evenly over cake. Cool and cut into squares.
