AUNT LYDIA'S GINGER COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and molasses. Mix dry ingredients. Combine mixtures. Roll into 1 inch balls, roll in sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. They will be soft then harden as they cool.
