SAUSAGE - CHEESE CASSEROLE | |
6 eggs, lightly beaten 2 2/3 c. light cream or milk 1 tbsp. brown sugar 1/4 tsp. paprika 1 tbsp. minced onion 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/8 tsp. red pepper 2 lb. sausage, cooked & drained 8 slices bread, cubed (crusts removed) 1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated Mix all ingredients except sausage, bread and cheese. Butter 3 quart casserole and layer bread, sausage and 1 1/2 cups cheese in dish. Cover with liquid mixture. Top with remaining cheese. Refrigerate overnight. Remove from refrigerator 2 hours prior to cooking. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Let casserole sit 20 minutes before serving. Serves 8. |
