1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped raisins
2 tbsp. shortening
1 c. sour milk and 1 tsp. baking soda (mixed)
1 tsp. baking powder

Cream the sugar and egg. Add shortening. Cream. Alternately mix in dry ingredients with milk mixture. Bake in loaf pan in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Frosting: Cream 1/2 cup butter. Add 1/8 teaspoon salt and 3 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar. Add 2 egg yolks and enough top milk (shows the age of this recipe) to give a spreading consistency.
