FRESH APPLE CAKE 
3/4 stick butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 c. chopped apples
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 8-inch square pan. In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add the sugar, then eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Combine dry ingredients to sugar-butter mixture. Beat until smooth.

Combine apples (no need to peel them), raisins and walnuts. Beat well. Spread evenly in pan. Bake for 40 minutes.

This cake is good served warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
