FRENCH APPLE CRISP 
6 c. tart juicy apples
2/3 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix the sliced apples with the sugar, cinnamon and flour. Place in 8 x 8 inch pyrex dish.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. flour

Mix butter, brown sugar and flour with a pastry blender or fork to make a crumb mixture. Sprinkle this mixture over apples. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool slightly. Serve plain or with whipped cream or ice cream. Serves 6.
