2-3 lg. cucumbers, unpeeled, thinly sliced 2 lg. onions, thinly sliced 2 c. sugar 2 c. white vinegar 3/4 tsp. celery seed 3/4 tsp. lemon pepper 3/4 tsp. turmeric 3/4 tsp. mustard seed 1/4 tsp. salt Layer cucumbers and onions in sterilized jars, packing tightly. Combine remaining ingredients in medium saucepan over low heat and stir constantly until sugar is dissolved, about 10 minutes. Pour evenly into jars and seal. Let cool slightly. Refrigerate at least 5 days before serving. Makes about 2 quarts. |
