PEACH CUSTARD CAKE | |
2 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1 c. sugar 1/4 lb. butter 18 peach halves 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 eggs 1 c. milk Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Add 2 tablespoons sugar. Cut butter into flour mixture as for pie crust. Pack flour mixture into 9 1/2" x 13 1/2" pan, covering all surfaces. Place peach halves on top, cut side up. Add cinnamon to remaining sugar and sprinkle over peaches. Bake in 400 degree oven for 15 minutes; remove from oven. Beat eggs into milk; pour over peaches. Return to oven and bake 30 minutes longer. Reduce sugar to 1/2 cup if canned peaches are used. Yield: 18 servings. |
