SCALLOPED APPLES 
5-6 good flavored apples
4 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Butter a baking dish. Pare apples and slice them. Put a layer of apples in dish; sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and dabs of butter. Repeat until apples are used up. Distribute butter over top. Bake at 300 degrees lightly covered until apples are tender and turn a mahogany color. A little water may be needed.
