GERMAN STYLE GREEN BEANS 
8 slices bacon
3 tbsp. bacon drippings
9 oz. pkg. (1 1/2 c.) frozen beans or French style
1/4 c. water - save juice from beans - canned
1 sm. onion
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. vinegar
Salt & pepper

Cut bacon strips in skillet. Fry until crisp. Reserve drippings. Remove bacon, fry beans and onions, stirring constantly, until vegetables are hot and tender and crisp. Reduce heat, stir in sugar and flour until blended. Stir in vinegar and juice. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbling. Add bacon, season to taste.
