OLD FASHIONED COCONUT CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/4 sticks butter
2/3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Bake in two 9-inch cake pans, greased and floured, until done.

Frosting:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
2 egg whites

Syrup:

1 c. water
1 c. sugar

Put syrup in saucepan; bring to boil. With toothpick, stick holes in cake. Spoon syrup over cake. Let set awhile until syrup soaks in. Frost.
