EASY REAL FRENCH BREAD 
1 pkg. yeast
1 3/4 c. water
4 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt

Dissolve yeast in 1 cup of the warm water. Sift flour, sugar and salt; then stir in yeast. Add rest of water, mix. Cover and let rise until double. Punch down. Divide in 2 and place each in a round casserole dish (about 6 inch size). Cover and let rise again.

Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour. Brush with melted butter before baking. Serve hot with butter. NOTE: Good with soups like Bisque or artichoke, as it is crunchy.
