CASSEROLE BREAD 
2 c. warm water (105 degrees)
2 pkgs. dry yeast
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. soft butter
1/2 c. plus 1 tbsp. Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 tbsp. oregano
4 1/4 c. sifted flour

Sprinkle yeast over warm water and stir. In separate bowl, mix sugar, salt, oregano, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese and 3 cups of flour. To the flour mixture add butter and yeast. Beat with electric mixer at low speed until mixed, and then at medium speed until smooth. Scrape bowl. With wooden spoon beat in rest of flour. Cover bowl with wax paper and towel. Let rise in a warm place (85 degrees) for 45 minutes or double in bulk. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 2 quart casserole. With a wooden spoon stir batter; beat vigorously 1/2 minute. Turn into casserole. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cheese on top. Bake 55 minutes. Turn on rack to cool.

This bread is great with a steak and salad.
