EVELYN'S HAM LOAF | |
1 lb. cured ham, ground 1 lb. fresh pork, ground 1 c. Ritz cracker crumbs 1 c. milk 1 beaten egg 1/2 green pepper, diced 1/4 tsp. pepper BASTING SAUCE: 1 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 tbsp. prepared mustard 1/2 c. vinegar 1/2 c. water Mix together and put in loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. At end of hour, pour off fat. I usually put pan in another pan in case of spillovers. Baste frequently in last half hour with sauce. Made by mixing basting sauce ingredients. Serve with Cucumberland Sauce and/or whipped cream with a little horseradish mixed in and/or whipped cream with a little Nance's Mustard Sauce mixed in. It's nice to give guests or family a choice. |
