BROWN EDGE COOKIES 
1/2 c. soft butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, well beaten
3/4 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt

Cream butter until fluffy. Add sugar and vanilla. Beat in egg. Add flour and salt. Continue beating until light and fluffy. Drop by 1/2 teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on rack.
