QUICK HEINZENBLOZEN | |
1 1/2 pkg. square wonton wrappers Oil for frying Powdered sugar and cinnamon HONEY GLAZE: Heat together: 3 or 4 tbsp. honey About 5 tbsp. sugar Add juice of 1 small or half of large lemon, if desired. Cut wonton wrappers in half to make two rectangles. Take two halves, one directly on top of the other, and make 1 1/2 inch slit lengthwise through the middle of both. Working as if the two layers were one, bring the narrow end of the rectangles through the slit to make a sort of bowtie shape. Fry in small batches in one inch of hot oil until lightly brown. Turn to brown second side. Drain well on several thicknesses of paper toweling. Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar mixed with cinnamon, plain powdered sugar, or brushed with honey glaze. Makes about 3 dozen. |
