ELLEN'S GOULASH SOUP 
1/4 c. oil
1/2 lb. Black Forest ham
4 to 5 lbs. beef roast, cut into cubes
5 onions, sliced & quartered
4 cloves garlic
2 green peppers, chopped
1 lg. can stewed tomatoes
4 potatoes, cubed
3 tbsp. paprika
1 tsp. caraway seeds
2 tsp. thyme
2 c. beef bouillon
1 c. red wine
Salt
Pepper
Sour cream

Brown the first 6 ingredients in a large soup pot. Add all other ingredients except wine and sour cream. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Add wine and salt and pepper to taste. Garnish each bowl with dollop of sour cream. Serve with dark bread or onion rolls.
