BLACK BEAN SOUP 
1 (12 oz.) pkg. black beans
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced or 1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. cumin
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 (4 oz.) can green chilies
1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
1 lb. hamburger (lean) or turkey
Hot sauce
1 tsp. salt
6 oz. can Hunt's special tomato sauce

Soak beans overnight. Drain and rinse. Put beans in a large cooking pot. Add 8 to 10 drops hot sauce and add 8 to 10 cups water. Cook over medium heat until beans are tender (approximately 2 hours). Brown meat, onions and garlic powder and add to beans. Add remaining ingredients and simmer to blend flavor. Serves 8.
