CHEDDAR CHEESE PASTRY 
2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
6-7 tbsp. cold water

Combine flour and salt; cut in shortening and cheese with a pastry blender; blend well. Sprinkle water evenly over surface; stir with a fork until dry ingredients are moistened and well blended. Shape dough into a smooth ball. Use as desired recipe. Yields pastry for 1 10-inch deep dish pie. Try with apple pie.
