GLADYS' HOMEMADE ROLLS | |
4 1/2 c. Pillsbury all-purpose flour 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. Crisco oil 1 egg 1/4 tsp. salt 1 pkg. dry yeast 1/4 c. lukewarm water Mix yeast and warm water, set aside. Mix sugar, egg, salt, Crisco oil; add yeast mixture and mix well. Put flour into a large bowl and add the liquid mixture. Mix like biscuit dough; you add 1/2 cup hot water and mix a little; then add 1/2 cup cold water and finish mixing and roll in a big ball. You can put it in the refrigerator to rise or you can roll and cut out. Cut them out with a biscuit cutter and fold in half so they will have a crease. Let the cut-out rolls rise for about an hour. Bake in a 350 degree oven until brown. Brush with butter and enjoy. |
