THE PERFECT WAFFLE 
2 1/2 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. cornmeal
3/4 c. whole wheat flour
1/3 c. nut meal
1 tsp. salt
1 c. water

Mix above ingredients. Stir into 4 to 4 1/2 cups hot water. Batter will be thin. Pour into hot waffle iron. Bake 8 to 12 minutes. (Don't open during the first 8 minutes.) Serve with thickened fruit or use one of the natural fruit jams found in the sandwich section. Try making waffles ahead and warming in toaster. Or have the batter in the refrigerator ready for use.
