WEST VILLE GINGER BREAD 
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 stick butter
2 eggs
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. boiling water
1 c. sugar
1 c. cane syrup

Beat the eggs, sugar and butter. Add syrup and stir. Sift dry ingredients together and add to the mixture. Add the boiling water last. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes. Test for doneness. It should spring back from your fingers.
