FRUIT CAKE 
2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. butter
3 eggs (yolks)
1/2 lb. raisins
1/2 lb. currants
1/2 lb. mixed candied fruit
1/2 lb. green & red candied cherries
1/2 c. walnuts
1/2 c. almonds
1/4 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. molasses
1/2 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. mace, nutmeg & cloves
1/2 tsp. baking soda in a little hot water
2 c. flour mixed with egg whites, slightly beaten

Do not fill pans more than 3/4 full! Bake in 275 degree oven until done. Makes 2 small loaves. Any variety of fruit or nuts can be used. Try dates and pecans!
