SWEDISH MEATBALLS | |
2/3 lb. ground beef 1/3 lb. ground lean pork 1/3 c. fine bread crumbs 1/2 c. milk or water 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. white pepper 1 egg 2 tbsp. grated or finely chopped onions 1/2 tsp. allspice Blend the bread crumbs with part of the liquid and let stand 10 minutes. Add meat, salt, pepper, onions, and eggs. Blend and form into balls and fry according to directions below. Use either cooking oil, butter, butter, and fry on all sides, approximately 10 minutes or bake in oven. Serves 4. |
