ROSE'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE 
1 c. butter flavor Crisco shortening
3/4 c. white sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. nuts (chopped quite fine)
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream together shortening, white sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs; beat well. Sift together flour, salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in vanilla, chocolate chips and nuts. Shape into 1- inch balls.
