PUMPKIN PIE CAKE 
1 box yellow cake mix (remove 1 c.)
1 stick butter, melted
1 beaten egg

FILLING:

1 lg. (1 lb. 13 oz.) can pumpkin
3 eggs
1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed firmly
1/4 c. granulated sugar
2/3 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

To remainder of yellow cake mix add 1 stick of butter, melted and 1 beaten egg. Beat with a fork until all the cake mix is absorbed. Press into the bottom of a greased and floured 9x13 inch pan.

Filling: In a large mixing bowl, mix all Filling ingredients above. Beat well. Spread over cake dough.

Topping: To the reserved cup of cake mix, add 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional). Crumble with 1/2 stick of cold butter. Sprinkle over pumpkin mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes. Cool in pan on cooling rack. Cut in squares and serve with whipped topping.
