PECAN BUNS | |
Buns: 1 egg 1/4 cup sugar 1 cup warm water 1 pkg. yeast 1 box Pillsbury roll mix In a large bowl, blend egg, sugar and warm water. Stir in yeast until dissolved. Add roll mix gradually. Add extra flour and knead until dough is not sticky. Put in a warm place and let rise about one hour. Divide dough in half and roll out lengthwise. Spread surface with butter and cover with brown sugar. Sprinkle with cinnamon. roll up as for a jelly roll and cut into slices about 1-inch wide. Lay pieces cut side down in a pan of syrup and nuts. Let rise about one hour. Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes. Turn out of pan at once. Syrup: 1 cup light brown sugar 3/4 stick butter 2 tbsp. white Karo Syrup 2 tbsp. warm water pecans Combine all ingredients, except nuts, over low heat and stir until well blended. Pour into a 9 x 13 pan. Cover with pecans. Add cut rolls. |
