TUNA HOT DISH NOODLE CASSEROLE | |
1 (6 oz.) pkg. noodles (2 1/2 c.) 3 tbsp. butter 3 tbsp. flour 3/4 tsp. salt 1 (7 oz.) can tuna 1 (3 oz.) can mushrooms Milk 1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce 1 c. buttered bread crumbs Cook noodles according to package directions, then drain and put in a 2 quart casserole. Melt the butter and blend in flour and salt and remove from heat. Drain tuna and mushroom liquid into a measuring cup and add enough milk to make 2 cups liquid. Add gradually to the flour butter mixture. Return to heat and cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Break up tuna and add with mushrooms and Tabasco to the sauce. Combine with noodles in the casserole. Put buttered bread crumbs on top; may be put in a circle as a wreath. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 30 minutes. Makes 6 servings. |
