AUNT NEDRA'S HOT PEPPERED JELLY | |
2 c. peppers, chopped fine 1/4 c. hot peppers (dry McCormick crushed red - bottled) 1 bottle pectin or Serto (liquid) 6 1/2 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. vinegar (cider) (Leave out 1 tablespoons vinegar and substitute water). Measure 2 cups peppers, lightly packed and the 1/4 cup of red peppers. Put in kettle, add sugar and vinegar and bring to boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from stove, cool 20-40 minutes. Return to stove and a rolling boil that cannot be stirred down. Boil 2 minutes; remove from heat and stir in pectin. Stir for 3 minutes. (Stir off foam, if any). Pour into hot sterile jars and seal. (Use new lids). |
