BANANA LAYER CAKE | |
2 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder 3/4 c. shortening 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 eggs 1/4 c. sour milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/4 c. ripe bananas Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift flour with soda and baking powder. Cream shortening. Add sugar and cream together until light and fluffy. Add eggs, beating well. Add sour milk and vanilla to bananas. Add flour and banana mixture alternately to creamed shortening and sugar mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Beat until smooth and well blended. Don't over mix. Pour into greased and floured cake pans. Remove from pans immediately after baking. Bake 25-30 minutes. Top with favorite icing. |
