JUMBO GINGERSNAPS 
Sugar
2 1/4 c.flour
3/4 c. molasses
1/4 c. maple syrup
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cardamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg

In a large bowl, measure 1/2 cup sugar and remaining ingredients. With mixer at low speed, beat until well blended, occasionally scraping bowl.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place 2 tablespoons of sugar on waxed paper. Shape 1/4 cup dough into ball. Roll in sugar to coat evenly. Place balls 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Balls will flatten slightly. Bake 15 minutes. Cool. Yields 10.
