ITALIAN RED ONION SALAD 
8 slices crisp bacon, crumbled
1/2 c. chopped celery
1 red onion, sliced thin
Parmesan cheese
Lettuce: Iceberg, Romaine or both

DRESSING:

1 c. sour cream
Scant 1/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. mayonnaise
2 to 3 tbsp. vinegar

Break lettuce into layered dish. Sprinkle celery over lettuce. Separate onion slices into rings and spread over lettuce. (Save some for top.) Spread sour cream mixture over all. Top with bacon, onion rings and Parmesan cheese. Cover with plastic wrap for 2 hours before dinner.
