ONION SMOTHERED STEAK 
1 1/2 lb. round steak
1/4 tsp. dried whole thyme
2 med. onion, sliced
1 c. water
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 bay leaf

Pound steak to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut steak into 3/4 inch strips. Combine flour, salt and pepper. Dredge steak in flour, then brown in oil. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer 1 hour. Remove bay leaf.
