SOFT SUGAR COOKIES 
2 c. butter
2 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
5 eggs
2 c. buttermilk
8 c. flour
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs; beat well. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with white sugar. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned.
