LEMON ICE BOX CAKE 
1 1/2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
4 eggs, separated
1 env. gelatin
1/2 c. cold water
1/2 pt. whipped cream
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. butter
1 lemon

Put gelatin in cold water. Beat egg yolks until thick, then add 1/2 cup sugar and juice an grated rind of lemon and butter. Cook slowly until thick. Add gelatin. Beat egg whites and add 1/2 cup sugar. Fold into mixture, add dash of salt. Fold in whipped cream. Use wafer crumbs mixed with butter to line pan. Also put some crumbs on top of mixture.
