APPLE SLICES 
CRUST:

2 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs, separated
About 1/2 c. milk

FILLING:

8 or 9 apples, pared & sliced
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. crumbled Corn Flakes

Mix flour, sugar, salt, Crisco, and butter as for pastry. Put 2 egg yolks in measuring cup. Add enough milk to make 2/3 cup. Mix yolk and milk together and add to flour mixture to form dough. Divide dough in half. Roll 1/2 to cover bottom and sides of 10 x 15 inch pan. Sprinkle crumbled Corn Flakes on crust. Mix apple slices, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Spread on crumbs in crust. Dot with butter. Roll other 1/2 of crust and put on top. Beat 2 egg whites until frothy. Spread on top. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Ice while hot with:

1 c. powdered sugar
Pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla
Enough water to drizzle
