RHUBARB CAKE | |
1/2 c. shortening 1 1/2 c. white sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. sour milk (regular milk plus 1 tbsp. vinegar) 2 c. plus 1 tbsp. flour 3 c. rhubarb, finely cut 1/4 c. colored candy sprinkles TOPPING: 1/3 c. sugar Mix together first 4 ingredients. Add flour and soda alternately with milk and mix. Add rhubarb and candy last and mix by hand. Add topping before baking. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees in 13 x 9 inch pan that has been greased and floured. |
