NO STIR COBBLER 
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. milk
1 lg. can sliced peaches in heavy syrup (can use cherries)

Melt butter in 8 x 8 pan. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together. Gradually add milk to flour mixture. Don't worry about lumps. Spoon batter as evenly as possible over the butter. Do not stir. Drain the peaches and lay on the batter. Bake in oven at 350 degrees. Is done when batter rises to top as is golden brown. Great served warm with ice cream.
