SNICKERDOODLES 
1/2 c. butter, soft
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. self-rising flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs. Blend in flour and cream of tartar. Mix together 2 tablespoons of sugar and cinnamon in small bowl. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into cinnamon and sugar mixture. Coat well. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned on bottom. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Makes about 6 dozen.
