OLD FASHIONED APPLE PIE 
4-5 c. peeled & sliced tart apples
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. butter
Pastry for double crust, 9" pie

Make pie crust. Place bottom layer in plate. Combine sugars, flour and cinnamon in bowl, stir in water. Add apples, mixing to coat thoroughly. Pour into crust and dot with butter. Roll out top crust. Cut design to let steam out. Place top crust on pie, pressing around to seal edges. Brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 to 60 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is brown.
