CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
3 sticks butter
3 c. flour (sift once, measure, sift again with other dry ingredients)
6 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. sweet milk
2 tsp. vanilla
5-6 eggs

With ingredients at room temperature, cream together butter and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs one at a time beating thoroughly after each. Add vanilla to milk and combine with cream mixture adding a little at a time alternately with flour mixture. Begin and end with flour mixture.

Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 25 minutes.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

3 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 1/2 sticks butter
3/4 c. milk
3 tbsp. corn syrup
Pinch salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cook to soft ball stage. Beat to frosting consistency.
